Honda took on the famous Sebring bumps in the second round of the 2026 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season—the Alan Jay Automotive Network 120— securing a top five finish in the process with the #5 KMW Motorsports with TMR Engineering Honda Civic Type R TCR of Rocco Pasquarella and Tim Lewis.
Highlighting the weekend was a milestone performance in qualifying, where Pasquarella captured the first IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge TCR pole position for the #5 Honda. However, race strategy across the field was disrupted before the green flag even waved, as a major incident in the GS class required an extended 30-minute cleanup and full course caution.
Once the action resumed, it translated into early race pace, with the #5 Civic leading a significant portion of the opening green-flag stint. Despite showing front-running speed, they faced an intermittent electrical issue that impacted straight-line performance, ultimately dropping the car back from the lead battle. Even so, Pasquarella and co-driver Tim Lewis were able to deliver fifth-place finish.
Meanwhile, after being forced to start from the rear due to a tire issue in qualifying, the #93 MMG Honda of Karl Wittmer and LP Montour masterfully carved their way through the field. The duo climbed as high as fourth and were in contention for a podium finish on the final lap before contact from a competitor caused a puncture, relegating them to seventh at the checkered flag.
Elsewhere, the #89 HART car of Tyler Chambers and Chad Gilsinger brought their Honda home in 11th, and the #72 Pegram Racing entry suffered an early setback with a spin during the opening stint, losing valuable track position that proved difficult to recover, ultimately finishing 12th.
