Honda Marine at 2025 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference Company Joins Leading Manufacturers, Supports Excellence in Career and Technical Education

Honda Marine, a division of Honda Power Sports & Products, participated at the 2025 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference (NLSC), the ultimate recognition of career excellence and technical education and largest gathering of America's future skilled labor force. SkillsUSA is the leading workforce development organization for students, empowering them to become skilled professionals, career-ready leaders and responsible community members.

This marks the first year that Honda Marine, based in Alpharetta, Georgia, took part in the NLSC annual event which was held June 23-27 at the Georgia World Congress Center. Honda Marine joined some of the world's most recognized and well-respected corporations and organizations, including colleagues from American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (booth #356), to support leadership development, career exploration, and technical education—all in the spirit of recognizing the skilled trades and accomplishments of career-ready participants.

Honda Marine markets a comprehensive range of marine outboard motors powered exclusively by four-stroke engines. As a pioneer of four-stroke technology, Honda Marine has designed and built outboards since 1964, setting the benchmark for fuel efficiency, quiet operation and low emissions. Today, the division remains committed to promoting recreational boating and elevating on-the-water experiences, a mission that aligns seamlessly with the support and development of the personal growth experiences of skilled technicians who help keep boaters and watercraft running strong on the water.

The NLSC celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2025, bringing together more than 17,500 attendees, including students, instructors, industry partners, government officials, and administrators. Honda Marine actively supported the highlight of the conference, the SkillsUSA Championships, where more than 6,500 state champions competed for national gold, silver and bronze medals in skilled and leadership competitions representing 114 different industries, including Marine Service Technology.

The Honda Marine team, led by Steve Maciosek, national service manager, also included Derek Martin, field service representative; Rob Johnson, senior model engineer; Lucy Berg, assistant manager, marine technical support; Brian Rogers, market quality technical specialist; and Bob Dinan, field service representative. This group was an integral part of the Marine Service Technology competition, June 25-26, and conducted selected written exams, supervised hands-on labs based on the National Technical Standards, and supplied the second-place prizes for both the post-secondary and high school competition winners.

"This year, the Honda Marine division is honored and proud to have joined our American Honda Motor Company colleagues in supporting the outstanding students who are the next generation of industry leaders. What's more, our participation at NLSC and support of SkillsUSA dovetails perfectly with Honda Marine mission to inspire boaters to answer the call of adventure and feel the thrill of the open water, driven by the exceptional performance and reliability of Honda Marine outboards," said Daniel Sherlock, director, Honda Marine Division. "Aligned with SkillsUSA's commitment to high-quality career and technical education, Honda Marine continues to invest in our organization, expand our training programs, and add more dedicated professionals across technical, sales, and customer support roles to strengthen our capabilities and better serve our customers."
