Amod Kelkar is a senior vice president and chief commercial officer of Honda Aircraft Company (HACI), based in Greensboro, North Carolina. In this role, he leads the Sales, Marketing, Events, Customer Service and R&D divisions of the company. He is also the program leader for the all-new HondaJet Echelon, and a member of the HACI Company Operating Committee.
Kelkar joined HACI in February 2021 as vice president of customer service and has since held a growing number of leadership roles across the company.
In June 2022, Kelkar added responsibility as head of the Commercial Business Unit, including responsibility for sales and marketing planning.
In April 2023, Kelkar took on another new responsibility as chief commercial officer to support the development and enhancement of HACI commercial and other business strategies, such as working with external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and community organizations.
In October 2023, Kelkar was given additional responsibility to establish and lead the New Business Aircraft Program division responsible for the schedule, cost and performance development of the all-new HondaJet Echelon (with planned service entry in 2029).
In January 2024, he was promoted to his current role as senior vice president and chief commercial officer, with primary responsibility for the commercial strategies, operations financials and efficiencies, and the P&L performance of the company.
In December 2024, Kelkar took on the additional role as R&D Business Unit leader, which includes Engineering, Certification & Product Safety, and Flight Test & Flight Operations.
Prior to joining HACI, Kelkar spent more than two decades in a variety of senior executive roles with several commercial and business aviation companies.
Kelkar holds a Master of Science in industrial systems engineering from the University of Regina and a Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical engineering from the University of Pune.
